Family and friends are mourning the loss of John Darren Allen, who passed away on May 26, 2026, at the age of 59. Remembered for his athletic talent, strong Christian faith, love of family, and generous spirit, John leaves behind a legacy of kindness and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Born on August 29, 1966, in Ashtabula, Ohio, John was the son of John Dennis Allen and Dorothy Jean Story. He spent his early years in Ashtabula, where he became known as an exceptional athlete during his time at West Junior High School and Ashtabula High School. His competitive nature and natural abilities allowed him to excel in football, basketball, and baseball, earning the admiration of teammates, coaches, and friends.

After leaving Ohio, John lived in Baltimore, Maryland, for three decades before relocating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 2015. Though life took him to different places, he remained deeply connected to the people and passions that meant the most to him.

Beyond athletics, John developed a love for computer games, where his competitive spirit continued to shine. He was also a dedicated sports fan who enthusiastically supported the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.

Those who knew him remember a man who valued fellowship and enjoyed bringing people together. One of his greatest pleasures was cooking, especially frying fish for family and friends, creating moments of laughter, conversation, and togetherness around the table.

Music also played an important role in his life. He enjoyed listening to R&B and found joy in spending quality time with loved ones. Whether sharing stories, preparing a meal, or watching a game, John treasured the simple moments that strengthened bonds with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy Jean Dyer of Ashtabula; his sisters, Michelle Edwards and Kimberly Smith; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, John Dennis Allen.
