The Bonnyville, Alberta community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Brandon James Paskaluk, who passed away suddenly and tragically on May 29, 2026, at just 17 years of age. His untimely passing has left family, friends, classmates, and loved ones devastated as they come to terms with the loss of a young man whose future held so much promise.

In a heartfelt announcement, Brandon’s family shared their profound sorrow at losing a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Though his life was cut far too short, those who knew him remember a remarkable young man whose kindness, determination, and love for his family defined the person he was.

Brandon was known for his strong character and caring nature. Family members describe him as someone who approached life with purpose and dedication, always striving to achieve his goals while remaining deeply connected to the people he loved most. His warm heart and genuine personality made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his mother, Carissa Paskaluk of Edmonton; his father, Clayton Paskaluk, and stepmother Amanda of Bonnyville; his brothers Dean Graves, Nathan Paskaluk, and Luke Paskaluk; and his sister Isabella Soloway. He is also survived by his grandfather Michael Paskaluk, uncle Stephen Paskaluk, cousins Allison and Catlin Paskaluk, great-aunt Connie Paskaluk, and numerous extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

While grieving his loss, the family takes comfort in knowing Brandon is reunited with loved ones who preceded him in death, including his grandmother Sylvia Paskaluk and great-grandparents Nick and Mary Paskaluk.

A funeral service celebrating Brandon’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Genmec ACL Hall, with Pastor Ron Hewitt officiating. Family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate a life that, although brief, touched many hearts. Cremation will follow the service.
